  • Musculoskeletal Disorders: Somatic Visceral Interactions, Chronic Spinal Dysfunction, Headache / Migraine, Peripheral Joint Pain,
  • Pain Related to: Post-operative or Post-infection scar tissue, Autonomic Mechanisms

Optimizing your organs through Visceral Manipulation.

Every organ in your body should have a natural Inherent motion, or 'swing set motion' as I call it.
This motion is dictated by how your organ developed in embryo. This 'swing set motion' should naturally move at about 7 cycles per minute.
The organ's inherent motion is how it communicates with the brain. Therefore, if for any reason, such as,
inflammation, injury, disease, surgery, emotion, or adhesions, the organ loses it's motion disease and dysfunction can follow.
Secondly, your organs need mobility. They need to move as you move in order to allow for full function.
For instance, if your liver is taxed from the alcohol your drank last night or the medication you have been taking,
when you try to rotate your trunk or lift up your right arm, it may be
restricted because the organ is sluggish and thus it's surrounding tissue has tension.

Visceral Manipulation, founded by Dr. Jean Pierre Barral, D.O., P.T., is an integrative approach to evaluation and treatment.
Each patient requires a thorough assessment of the structural relationships between the viscera, and their fascial or
ligamentous attachments to the musculoskeletal system.
Over time, layers in your system add up from surgical scars, adhesions, illness, poor posture or injury and cause strains in the
connective tissue of the viscera. The lines of tension through the system's deep fascial networks create a
cascade of effects often far from the originating source.
This creates fixed, abnormal points of tension resulting in compensatory movements of the body, ultimately causing
chronic irritation, which gives way to functional and structural problems.
Visceral Manipulation as a treatment increases proprioceptivecommunication within the body,
thereby revitalizing a person and relieving symptoms of pain, dysfunction, and poor posture.
